Lowest St. Maarten 747 Departure I've Seen

Can it really get much lower than that for SXM?

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I had similar encounter with an AF340 once. Maybe slightly higher though. Those RWY27 departures are just incredible, I wish all departures were coming this way.

I have been on the other side of the runway there (Planes usually don't depart over the beach) where I was convinced the nose gear was going to clip the top of our car.

Why couldn't they do that when I was there ;-)

A Continental 737 and my very flight B6-788 departed RWY 28 while I was there... nothing else :-(
