Good catch on the pink 767 Eric! Got to bang the trackers for that one.

Ah, back to back days with the pink Delta. I saw her yesterday from HoBe as she came in in the morning.

Here's a few shots of mine. Spent about an hour at Costco, and about the same at the Mounds. I have a special request to the ladies and gents of the tower: when you switch RWYs, can you make sure than One World Qantas and Skyteam Delta wait for me, just for a few minutes OW Qantas flew right over me as I was switching RWYs myself :(

Anyway, nothing out of the ordinary today on my side. Did not bother going to HoBe as my 200mm limitation is getting frustrating!

Rom if you get an international or a 747, 200mm might just make it. Though you would be sitting for quite a bit waiting. I know how that restriction is. Limited me for an entire year. I can shoot now but im limited to 300mm. The smaller birds are an issue but 767 and bigger I can manage. You will get there at some point.

It's the kit lens, no? 55-200mm? Superb.. .amazing what the lens can do given the right conditions

Everyone, GREAT IMAGES!!! I am just floored by the quality and variety. I am always saying, GREAT LIGHT is what its all about. Nothing beats it. You can have the worst gear, blindly stab the shutter on full AUTO and you'll likely get great pictures.

Mark L., Eric has no competition, don;t worry, if you miss it, he'll get it

Eric, thanks for the kind words on the $hitiest picture I have ever posted LOL. It was for demonstration purposes only. This is why an 800 or 1000mm lens from HoBe won;t give any better pictures. Look at how much heat distortion is being compressed.

What the 800-1000mm is good for is directly overhead shots of planes in flight at altitude. There the heat haze and atmospheric turbulence is reduced to a minimum.

Again, what a great set of pictures folks!!

Rom, yer killing that kit lens. Nice job!!

haha. I had four objectives when I left the house today. Shoot Transaero landing/departing. Shoot Pink Delta arriving and shoot LH401 departing. 4/4 almost missed Pink Delta as they were given 31R but later requested 31L and got it. had a few minutes to make it to the 31L location.

Actually, it is a 747 made out of nanomorph mimetic poly-alloy (liquid metal) which can transform into any shape.

I sold my older version of the f4 300mm and got the newer AF-S model with the Nikkor TC it's the set up that Randall Johnson uses and I know why he likes it. It's totally insane AF and sharpness. the 420mm helps too. WIN

Manny - I hope it won't take the 3 months I spent at MIA missing the TSO 777 getting it's replacement - the TSO B744. In the meantime, I'm about to head to FLL and hopefully get the Baboo E190 that's on a delivery flight....

[Edit] Damn...just found out it left....oh well...
