ATLANTA's temporary terminal: 1948-1961
Atlanta's temporary terminal was used from May 1948 until May 1961.
The city created an inexpensive temporary terminal from a quonset-style war surplus hangar until it could be determined what would be needed to accomodate the next generation of airliners.
Atlanta airport was one of the four busiest in America with more than 100 000 passengers arriving and departing each month.
