I have pics, but cannot dump the card until I get home tonight. He did a nice low flyby over Rwy32, then came back around and landed on same.
The timing was perfect, was able to catch it on my lunch break. Finally, a delay worked in my favor.

Do we know how long it's staying? Departure date/time? Will it be open for tours at the AAM?

Very nice... very nice. I have to try and snag a few images of it.. what a sweet looking vintage! And it looks like the whole left side is Pan Am, not just the tail.

Yep she is a beauty! Good seeing Mark and Eric and a lot of people! FRG doesn't see that often.

I'm with you Eric, I'm all the same! I love the nice old-school feel you gave to your shots, nice stuff as usual.

What a fantastic day seeing the DC-7 arriving at Republic and getting an opportunity to shot it. Here is one image (more to following shortly).

    I like that rendition Mark...

So, some said she will be around for a few days? Can I show up around the museum parking lot and snap pictures of it from an unobstructed spot? or will I have to wait until she is in the air?

    Thanks for the tips/advice :-)

What a treat to see this bird today. I didn't get the closeups, as it came in towards the end of my lunch break, however, the week is young yet.

First the flyby over Rwy 32

Eric..........great images........unfortunately I had to pull off the side of the road because I left my scanner attached to my car antenna. Some of these are more on the artistic side (I think). Here are some more images (with more to follow).

Manny.....that first shot posted was taken from the shopping center through the fence. The light was fantastic as the sun set. I am not sure what the air museum is going to do, but I would think they would allow photo's. How far they let you out is another story.

It was great seeing you all today, I wish I was able to let you guys stay out much later but they were trying to close up shop and I had to turn down a dear friend Gueseppie who I would do anything for as they were trying to get the crew out as one of the AAM member had to drive a good 4-5 hours home. I am glad they allowed you guys out on the tarmac as I did not think they were going to do it as the plane arrived so late in the day.

As for all the great shots that were posted.... there is something to be said about a good black an white shot

But this is where I draw the line

What the hell guys??? You can not see the PAN AM BLUE!!!! I would give my left nut to had an 18Megapixel
camera and a time machine!!! You guys want it to look old? It is a DC-7! THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD LOOK!

Juan Trippe would love to see is beloved Blue Ball in technicolor but unfortunately I will need to wait a day or two more!

The Flyby was great but I gave up my position on the other side of the runway that would have been perfectly lit to let
others from the AAM shoot some video. It was important to document the event and even on the backlit side I had my
7D to make up for it. I also would not have been able to take Moose with me in the truck and he is like my lucky
rabbits foot. We always have the greatest adventures!

We watched as he was on approach and loved every moment of it

The cockpit was a normal manly cockpit from Douglas with lots of steam gauges....

Someone onboard stated that it had that new plane smell! It did!

I am sorry you guys were not able to go in the aircraft but once again, the late arrival and the need for the AAM members
to leave asap was very important. Thank you for not asking the crew for access as requested as they will always try to
accommodate and I did not want to upset AAM staff by having people keep them later. If we disrespect their wishes,
they will not allow ramp access like this to happen on days they are not open.

Sunset on the ramp is a magical time

I too like Eastern as I had some time in their 727 sims growing up... Love the Hockey Stick but this paint job is ok too...
Here are a few Eastern shots for you guys

I have many more but I would not want to make you bored... What a great day!!!
