Went down to D.C. for the long weekend and had the great luck of somewhat crappy weather. Now, the air was warm, but the light was crap..best conditions were indoors at the SUH Center! Oh well, did what I could and here are the results...enjoy!

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
Heh, this Saturday in Washington, IAD was on the ILS 1R, circle 30 pattern (fairly rare, maybe 4/5 times a year), which gives a great heavy bank right over the UHC parking lot. I missed an A124 arrival by about 30 minutes, but did manage to see a handful of other arrivals (although I was most excited to see 2 of Boeing's new CL605s).
Any space shuttle pics to post?

Blackbird! WOW. I love the one at the San Diego Air Musuem, you can walk right up to it and touch it!

Going to the museum was an amazing expirence, I just wish the runway config. would have worked out for me...oh well, I plan on heading down to D.C. in late may for DCA & IAD spotting. I'd say that the weekend would not be a good time to hit the SUH Center...too many kids! There are good angles there, but when you have to navigate strollers and 10 year olds, it can get annoying.

Great shots !! Thanks for sharing
That was my takeaway the first time I visited there - I know they say the payload bay is about the size of a school bus, but I couldn't believe how huge the Shuttle is when you're standing right next to it. Didn't feel nearly as big as the 707, for example, and certainly not Concorde, which is very willowy from nearby.
So my internet was down last night (thanks TWC NY), so the shuttle pics have to wait til I get home from work...
