What a great day to fly a kit or go wind surfing! Unfortunately it wasn't a great day for spotting. I bumped into to Eric and Manny at HoBe today. The winds were fierce to say the least and departing flights seemed like that they far and few in between. It was very difficult to keep the camera still, most of my shots were a bust, but here are a few of my from today that were salvageable.

Met up with Mark later in the afternoon (missed Eric) and we had two little adventures that yielded not much more than blurry images :-( The wind was simply unbearable today. The light conditions did not help... Most I got out of my two hour commute (traffic is murder) was a little shopping at Costco and I washed my car

Three that made it out reasonably not motion blurred

BTW, the Eva took off after 6:00pm which was the one reason I actually decided to go out today.

Eric, you were smart and have your addiction in much better control than I have mine. For instance, I went over to Costco for actual shopping (the madness) after finishing up in HoBe. Light had already gone to hell because of the clouds. I went inside and shopped a bit then came to my car and unloaded. By this time, all you could see was the strobes on the planes. So I sat in my car for another half hour watching the strobes and a glimpse of the lit tail on whatever planes would show it off at all :-)

Then over to the car wash across the street, the hand wash is one of the very few in the city that is truly hand wash ONLY. After they finish with my car, the guys are looking for me to give me back my car and I was out back watching a 747 land (totally dark mind you, but FUN!!!)

It is laughable. I need to do something about it.

Rom, the Delta 757s are always a treat from HoBe. American always turns early, waaaay early ... only Delta 75' and 76' 7s turn late and hard. Delta 747s turn really hard and sometimes low enough for awesome banking shots. American never delivers... maybe with a 777 sometimes... and only from Kilo Kilo departures.
