    EWR 1/30/11

After a weekend of putting together baby furniture for my brother and his wife my girlfriend and I decided to make a stop in Elizabeth. She fortunately had to go into Ikea and Babies R Us, and I fortunately had my new Sigma 150-500 mounted to my D40x that I have been wanting to test drive. The results of which are as follows. Wish I could have gotten a variety of angles but hey, with Newark I'll take what I can get.

Light started out nice and then moved to a very distinct shade of crap. As you can see I made maximum use of that left turn they make after departing 22's:

And unfortunately, of course this left as we were leaving. I hauled the car over and practically fell out of the car to catch it. This is a 'miss' to me but I don't have one of these yet:

Thanks. I was extremely discreet about it. An Elizabeth PD Crown Vic was patrolling the lot constantly. It was just dumb luck he didn't swing by when I was actually taking pictures.

Just a little too blurry for me, but I will certainly honor your assessment of it! Thank you kindly, sir

William, great set... ANY set from EWR is great... I mean, it is the world's most obscure public airport as far as spotting is concerned LOL.

Question, how is the new Sigma? I owned and quickly discarded the Nikon 80-400mm and the original non OS version of the Bigma 50-500mm as I was a bit disappointed with the edge chromatic aberrrations and the overall softness. Not to mention the slow apertures at the tele end and resulting darker viewfinder/slower AF.

However I have heard good things about the new OS version. thanks...
