    Hey guys,

    EDIT:

    >^< correction
    757-300 from EWR to LAS
    A320 from LAS to LAX

For the best seats for photos out the window would be the cockpit :) Unfortunately those are impossible to get these days, unless your a pilot.

I also hate those emergency exit seats.....they may have more leg room but may not recline back depending on the configuration of the aircraft.

I would suggest a seat just in front of the wing, this way the jet exhaust doesn't impact your photos. I usually sit in the back (it's closer to the bathroom) and a little more quieter becaue your a litter further away from the engine. Also another important thing to consider is what time of day you'll be flying. I am assuming in the morning, if that is the case, sit on the right side of the plane, because most of the time the sun will be on you left (so the light will really be harsh and terrible). Consider that on the way back as well.

Just my 2 cents. Wait for some others to chime in and see what they say.

I agree, just ahead of the wing is nice.

Thanks Guys... I usually pick seats at the front anyway. However, give the nice wing shots you see sometimes, I figured maybe there would be better choices from this point of view.

A little confused about the 1st leg, 99.9 pct positive no carrier flies a 737-300 from EWR-LAS, if they did would be pushing the range of the airplane? LGA777

Depending on the flight times I select Port or Starboard side.

Here's couple of my examples from the rear...

I knew it will be 34L departure out of Sydney in morning

This one it had to be starboard side...

    Why I oughtta!

Actually, this would be the first time I get Window seat in more than 10 years... at 6'2" I have real issues with knee room... so at least aisle lets me stretch out a bit during the flight.

Raj, I love the shot of Sydney.

Manny, my shot isn't nearly as great as Raj's, but this is a shot from the left side right above the leading edge of the wing on a 737-300. Taken during sunrise.

I usually try to go back as far as possible behind the wing, however you do sometimes get some blur from the jetwash.

Raj, Kaz and Mark......excellent shots!!! On the way to LAX later this March, I'll be sitting in the back, at this point I have an aisle seat but there were plenty of empty seats. I am hoping no one else will be in my row so that I can then have the whole row to myself.

Oh the shadow pic is cool...

Thanks ALL for the great tips. The choices are clear... front of wing or way back... so likely I will try as far back. I guess is worth it in front of wing when you want shots of the engines like on a B747 or A380

    cheers!
