Anytime... as Manny showed how any shots can be precious with good editing. In those days, never thought how post 9/11 world will be, there were few of us who just loved to spend a day at Kennedy, listen ATC and spot and click some shots along the way. I loved watching 4 Concorde movements in a day!. I will never forget when it departs off 22R and we could stand at the fence right there and the rumble is shaking the heart literally!. BTW, I am not even sure I have AA DC10 at Kennedy (have to dig up some old shoebox of prints), so thanks for posting and adding to the thread.

A couple old DC-10 shots from SEA:

Been scanning in my old film shots from the late 90's, when I really knew nothing about what I was doing.

Here's one more, tried to touch it up a bit:

I agree with you Tad, I had no clue either at the time, I was just happy my shots were coming out. I would have been up poopy crick had I been shooting slide film.

If we're talking about old DC-10 photos...

I shot these in March 1981, at Hangar 14.

You should have stopped at PS#1 in Lawrence first and picked me up- it's not like I was doing anything important in 2nd grade- that would have been totally awesome

Love the PA 707's in the background

I worked as a security guard at the Pan Am hangars during college. The 707s were being retired at the time, they had a bunch of them lined up down at Hangar 14.

Let's not forget the sexiest of DC10s and USAF aircraft out there still flying today..

While she may be getting old, worn out, and not as gucci as she used to be, there's not one airframe that can match the combined capabilities, from refueling to cargo that she has to offer... Not to mention she's still a lot of fun to fly!

Wow... Great additions... Love the shots. The USAF scheme maybe monochrome but IMHO it enhances the classic lines even better.

I remember the gate in the fence, once I was there and some construction workers let me past the fence. I have tons of slide from back then but no slide scanner to upload them with

Holy Douglas Batman!!! Fantastic shots of a gone era, no matter what the quality, which are quite good I think! The views of the old IAB remind me of standing on that Worldport roof as a kid, man how that landscape has changed...
