Nice catches, but your images are a little on the dark side (under exposed).
Was also out for the day. Nice and sunny in the morning, but the clouds rolled in a little before noon.
My Rebel XT's 20,000th shot.
Nice catches, heeshung, can you tell me where 's your location for #6--#12?
Nice panning shot of the TAM!
Here are my few shots for the day. Unfortunately, I decided to scrap all my other shots. I was shooting with auto ISO and I exceeded my ISO noise requirements. I should have stayed within ISO 1600 or so. I'll have to make sure I carry my other lens with me next time. The lens I used is a dog in low light. Like Mark stated............light was good in the morning then the clouds rolled in.
The best shot of the day for me.
Taken at ISO 720, then some post processing (added a polarizer filter effect)
Taken at ISO 720, then cleaned up the noise

Great day in the morning but overall great fun day hanging with Mark and Mark... makes it all worthwhile.
Thanks to Mark "heeshung" for alerting me of the Cargoitalia. I dismiss it as only a random Wednesday / Thrursday flight and this was a nice surprise. Unfortunately I only had a half hour to get to JFK and I decided to give it a shot. I actually made it on time and would have had time to make it to the mounds... She was held short of RWY 4L for landing traffic and then lined up for a bit ... I decided to stop over between 22L/R on Rockaway, you know, the suicide spot and I miscalculated with the lens choice and position. I thought I was further away .. oh well, I got some nice closeups but these were the only full shots (the rest are the same and through the trees!)
So far the best catch for me on this rare bird!! Alsmost as rare to me as the Finnair MD-11

Nice work on that China Eastern Zee... mine all came out crappy.
Mark love the top three American shots. Mine came out OOF believe it or not... something is up with my AF :-( very regularly now I get lots of shots OOF for no apparent reason!

Manny...that Turkish is to die for! You are the low light king when it comes to moving objects.
Manny..........you kill me with those panning shots as well, the TAM is fantastic! That glass is fantastic to say the least.
John!! thanks man :-) I feel humbled but I really still suck at it! Somehow I do much better on F-15s at 500 knots LOL. It is really hard to do it with slower moving large metal objects ha! I must say if I could use a tripod and a Wimberly head, I should get more keepers. Out of the 20 or so I shot of the Turkish, only two came out the least blurred... here is the other one. Notice how the back of the plane is way more blurred than the front. It is really tough with really large planes at an angle. It works best if the whole plane is parallel to the sensor plane otherwise the shutter is open too long to capture the whole palne sharp as the front is moving slower vs the back in relation to the sensor...
I should have used twice the shutter on this one and minimize motion blur... but I got greedy trying to get a REALLY big blur on the background LOL. IT is still loads of fun in the end!

Mark thanks but the tam was far simpler as the shutter was much higher LOL. Once the light drops at JFK it is just too dark :-( I wish we had the back-scatter they have at places like Sydney or even Chek Lap Kok in Hong Kong

Hey mark hate to burst your bubble but cargo italiana actually comes in about 2-3 times a week. There just usually overnight. I love that back shot though. Nailed it.
Nick, thanks... shot is mine :-) In any case, I have always known about CRG 631, 632 and 633 but never this early morning departure CRG 671 was a surprise... I have been to JFK many times and never saw it this early... Usually Wednesday/Thursday flight ... never Monday.
But if you have INSIDE info on when I can expect her, let me know ;-)
Thanks
