Looks like you guys went A380 hunting. I spent a couple hours at Hobe and then a couple at Panera.

Eric, we did not see you at all while we were at panera and Costco... and yes, we certainly did go hunting for 380s ;-) I wanted a shot of one wheels up... man, you have to go FAR to get them before they drop the tyres.

Did anything good take off? I was keeping an eye on the trackers and nothing snapped at me. I am so bummed that I missed the 13s yesterday. I could have made it too... LOL

    Thanks Mark, Jeremy...

Well ..... here are my shots for the day (a terrific day indeed). I spent an hour by the mounds before they switched to the 31s. Then made my rounds to Panera, Costco, and another location with Manny.

    Some from the mounds:

I'm not sure if this was an omen, but finally caught this guy in some good light (Costco)

My shot of the ATI (a unexpected visitor)

    A380 shots coming at ya!

    Now the French A380

    Delta coming at ya....

Nothing like a couple of Virgin's

Manny.....not much of a difference in perspective from where I shot the Emirates A380 compared to where you were. The only issue I see with head-on shots with the 80-400mm lens, is that it doesn't focus as fast as I would like (hope they upgrade that lens this year).

Mark, with Focus Tracking with Lock-on in AF-C (servo) it should be fine... I know the screw-type focus is not fast when locking on but once locked, it should have no trouble staying focused. The rumors abound like this one which I know is a stretch but we can dream...

    From Thursday:

If true, I'm sure it would have VRII and AF-S.

The first real contender to the ubiquitous 100-400IS USM? Watch a bunch of people switch from Canon if this is true, haha

Damn these sets are friggin awesome. Please send some sunshine this way (and some of the traffic too). That AF A380 gear up shot is probably the best shot of the A380 I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
