Got me wondering the same thing, so did some digging. Found a post on AirFleets talking about this from 10/28/10.The first time out that I have not seen a NWA livery. Anyone know how many are left?
Hope this gives some insight.Delta has painted most all Northwest aircraft in the new Delta livery now. The A-330-200s, A330-300s, DC-9-51s and the 5600 series of 757-200s are ALL painted now or in the paint shop presently. Less than 100 active Northwest aircraft still to paint... and they be finished in January.
Delta will not paint any DC-9-30/40 aircraft, 747-200/Fs or 757-200 5500 series as they will all be replaced in 15 months or less.
There are still lots of ex-NW owned regional jets to be painted. The CRJ-900s and most of the newer ERJs have the new DL livery... but many CRJ-200/700 and older ERJs yet to be Deltaized.

Delta only operates 5 NWA DC-9-40 aircraft... they are going to exit from service Friday :(
Man that bites. Where are they flying?
There are still 747's? I thought they were long gone.
Great shots by the way. Very different landscape from when I was there in September.
Think that statement means that they would not be painted, not necessarily that they are still in service. Kind of confusing for sure. There are still 747's? I thought they were long gone.

The only NWA painted planes left flying are 5 DC-9's,but there last day flying is supposed to be on December 31.
