Like the JFK assasination and 9/11, I rember where I was 22 yrs ago when the first news of a plane crash in Scotland came over on WCBS radio.
I'm sure this would have been posted later in "On this day..", but let me be the first to say RIP

Thanks for the reminder. We should never forget this tragedy.

Several years ago I was fortunate enough to meet Bob Monetti, who lost his son Rick on the flight. He's an incredible human being, devoted to preserving his son's memory, pressing for better air safety standards, and he was a driving force in seeing to it that al-Megrahi was brought to justice. It's extremely unofortunate that he has since been released on "compassionate grounds", when he should have been left to rot first in his cell then in eternity.

God bless the victims, and their families they left behind.

One of the Clubs I worked at had a family of student coming back here for Xmas. The burden they had to carry was incredible and they were interviewed in Newsday when the convicted bomber was releasead. They complete grace and class and I can't hope but God does bless them. They need it.
