Should have checked ATIS I want to shoot some banks on the expressway visual. Would have come out! Good shots!

Nice meeting with Kez today. When I headed out to Marina the sun was already half blocked by clouds.

Southwest's Shamu came to LGA today.

ATIS = Automatic Terminal Information Service

It's an automated message broadcast by the tower describing current runway usage, weather conditions and special messages for incoming and outgoing traffic. You can listen to it on a scanner, and some airports also make it accessible by telephone.

    LGA's ATIS phone is 718-898-0272
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
