It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

First, the year ain't over yet :-)

Second, that would depend on if you're talking about catch of the year in terms of spotting geekness or catch of the year in terms of individual photo?

Myria! Coming in a close second is the Lufthansa A343 that floated down half the runway, touched down, spooled back up, and performed a missed.

    Then you would've made $5...the L-1011 is currently #1. But we'll see.

SOOOO tough to pick just one when I have so many. Maybe because I only have a few months of spotting under my belt!

And had the quality been there, this would have killed :-) I need to bring a Dobson 10" to Bayswater when it is nice out :-)

I had a hard time picking but when it came down to it, this one had not just a rare (by USA standards) plane but also an airline that I doubt I'll catch again....

Had several big catches this year, hard to pick just one, so I'll post a few...

Almost didn't get this one - word was a "Super Hornet" was coming into FRG, just a few weeks after air show week. Then I found out it was a Growler.

I'd always heard stories that "...the Dreamlifter just left JFK" - this time I heard about it before it arrived.

Because there aren't many flying, and it's such a cool airplane:

If only because this aircraft was destroyed less than two months later:

But if I had pick only one, it would be this:

It's been a pretty good year so far, let's see what the next few weeks bring.
