    .svg Files

i keep downloading .svg files from wikipedia especially and none of the software i have on my computer recognizes them. is there a patch for adobe products? i'm running photoshop elements right now.

SVG is cool... remember it is basically an XML description file which makes it very very portable. It describes vector data not raster data so just think of what vector software you have. Photoshop indeed supports it fully as well as all the right Adobe products. Elements SHOULD open it... you tried? or are you just double clicking on it to see what happens? I am not trying to insult your intelligence :-) Just starting from scratch.

Have you tried just opening it up in Elements? what version?

BTW, Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 3.x support it natively.. as does Safari I believe :-)

i've tired to "open with" elements and keep getting unsupported format messages. IE did open it but i was hoping to save it as a .jpg as well. that of course doesn't happen since i can't get it open. i'm running elements 6.

I haven't tried it, but maybe you can try an online converter like: http://www.fileformat.info/convert/image/svg2raster.htm
