    JFK - 12/9/10

Had the urge to try to catch the Korean Star Craft tonight. Finally she wasn't blocked by any other aircraft at the gate. Met Manny and looking forward to his postings as well.

    Not much more am afraid

Flightaware was wrong. It said it landed. I was waiting for it by The Mounds to try and catch any shot of it. I was prepared at ISO 105200 f/1.8 1/30th sec... not good enough but then again, there is NO light washing up from the streets below at all... well some but ... anyhow, I wanted some thing LOL! After all this is for fun.

So after practicing on a few JetBlues and Deltas, I left, thinking it was on the ground. Mark kept saying "I see nothing on the ground" so just as I was turning from Brookville BLVD to Rockaway BLVD, she calls in to the tower who clears it to land as number one.

I rushed just past the ILS on 22L to the spot Nick V appropriately calls Suicide Spot for any sort of shot. I pass the runway, I see it coming, jump out and my lens cap is on UGH!!!! take it off and just fire away blindly (you can't see it at all, it is much darker than the pictures lead you to believe) But it is fun hunting down KE0085/Starcraft in the winter. If it had been summer, there would have been MUCH more light out.

The hunt for the Star Craft (KE0085) was successful. Definitely an awesome paint job. Next on the list is the Swiss A340 (HB-JMJ), with the San Francisco scheme.

Well, I will not rest until I have a FULL FRAME full body shot of the Starcraft. So... but at least I have a DECENT shot after all. Last time it was an abortion! lol.

Thanks for the company as always Mark!
