Allegiant Kicking MCO Idea to the Curb

    http://www.allegiantair.com/aaNews/aaNews20101026a.php

Looks like Allegiant Air likes SFB over MCO after all! They're bailing on MCO as of February 1, 2011.

Very interesting. I get why they like SFB since there's no Southwest or airTran, but in my opinion, I'd pay a bit more to fly into MCO since it's more convienent for connecting flights, dining, etc.

Allegiant has a lower cost structure which SFB fits better with. LAS and LAX (and MCO until 2/1/2011) are the only bases that G4 uses that are primary area airports. The rest are secondary or just smaller (PIE, PGD, IWA, BLI, GRR, MYR)
