To celebrate the final day of summer, I decided to hang-out at the Coney Island Pier. It was lovely and I was watching the aircraft approaching the CRI VOR, mostly American and Jet Blue. Suddenly, at 1541, I spot "Air Force One" using the regular VOR 13L Approach. I was surprised since I thought this aircraft always uses a 31R Approach from the southeast. Less than a half-hour later, I hear loud sounds, it was a swarm of choppers, 2 of which look like "Marine One". One must have been a decoy. After that there were no more aircraft for about another half hour passing over Coney. For me, this was to make-up in a way for the canceled air show. Farewell to summer!
