    Malware possible cause for Spanair crash

    This if true is rather astonishing and rather scary. Perhaps the first incident that a computer virus killed humans on a mass scale, time to go back to cables and analogue instruments!

    Actually, they added an update to clarify the report - they said the suspected malware was on a ground-based computer used to monitor aircraft systems, and not a computer on the aircraft itself.

    I do not recall many of the specifics of this and I am not quite awake enough yet to do any research. Would this be the MD82 that crashed a few years ago on takeoff from MAD?
