Need to fix a lens and pick up one as well- advice.

So some time ago I had a minor issue with my 100-400 and I drove it to Canon in NJ to fix.

Now, I am having an issue with my 17-85IS lens. It randlomly will "hunt" for focus, zooming in and out at times. Its an intermittent issue and I think its about time I get it fixed.

I dont feel like mailing it to Canon though.

Should I use Berger or Cameta? I know both are on Rte 110 and easy. If neither are recommended, I guess I'll just mail it to Canon.

BUT. I figure since I am sending it it, I should finally get that 50mm that everyone talks about. So if I do, again, Cameta or Berger? I figure I'd do both (fix one lens and buy another) at the same place.

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

and that has made all the difference......yet...

Have you tried cleaning the lens contacts? Also, are you sure it's not a malfunction with the body?

Don't give it to anyone but Canon.

I'llltry the contact cleaning again. But it never occurs with the 100-400 and the last time I saw a budd with a Canon body, it mimicked the same problem on his body....

Nick, I am saying, sad but I think I have to....
