A true baseball icon that will be missed by Yankee fans and baseball fans.

Re: The "Voice of Yankee Stadium" Passes Away

As a born and raised Yankee fan (thanks Dad) this passing is very sad. The man was true class and a
legend in the world of baseball. He will be missed. Derek Jeter still uses a recording of his introduction and
it will be used at the All-Star game when Jeter comes to bat.
Interesting that the old Yankee Stadium is all torn down and passed on and another part of that rich history
    has also passed on.

Old stadium, still in tact, is on the left.

Thats pretty cool. I actually have two like photos on my Facebook page taken from the other side as we
were flying along in a Delta MD-80 on the Hudson heading home to LGA. Now that the Stadium is gone I am
even more glad I have them.
