    Spotting Binoculars

As of late, I've been sitting in my backyard looking at the arrivals for runway 22 at Kennedy, so I grabbed my old pair of binoculars. They are a pair of Bushnell 10 x 25's, you can easily make out the JetBlue, Delta and AA planes but seeing as I live in Lindenhurst, other planes can be hard to make out at times. I've been looking at these, http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B000W2CP ... d_cr_photo , would these be a nice improvement over what I have already? I've been told that as the magnification gets larger, the harder it is to hold the image steady. Would I be better off looking for a higher magnification, or would these suffice? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The higher the magnification, the more pronounced your movements appear. A tripod mount would easily solve this issue by keeping it completely still, so you might want to consider binocs with tripod mounts. I have a pair of Bushnell 12x25s that are not difficult to stabilize with my hands.
