    Olympia Airshow

I missed the amazing Friday night action and got stuck with a lot of crappy light and weather on Sunday....still glad I went though - the F16 Viper team put on a great show. The F18 went mx not long after getting airborne, sadly we didn't even see a single burner pass. The crew from Historic Flight Foundation was awesome as always, and American Beauty (P51, not pictured) with a Zero did a great set. If the weather had cooperated this would've been even more of a show to remember. Great work and exposure for the Olympic Flight Museum http://www.olympicflightmuseum.com/!

Wow, Clearly can see why the F-18 had to end early! That is awesome that you caught that, and a hell of allot better than any burner pass!!!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Yeah, it had to have happened early on after he got airborne...he did a few slower passes and buzzed the tower REAL close a few times going slow so they could get a look...then went outside the immediate airspace and burned fuel before recovering. He taxi'd by us and looked real dejected...I felt bad for him. Supposedly he tore it up really good on Friday & Saturday.
The F16 demo guy must've been told the F18 went mx, so throw in some extra stuff because man did Viper West put on a show...he did three minimum radius turns and 5 high speed all passing right over us at about 250ft...it was sick. I wish I had used video instead of pics (mostly because the pics suck and don't do it justice anyways).

You know it's a good show when you're still grinning the next morning! Especially considering the conditions!
