    VCV 5/28

Hit up VCV for some boneyard action and was happy to see not only one of Boeings 787s (N7874) but their 748 (N5017Q) unfortunately they didn't move as the work was being done on both of them. I nailed the 911 DC10 water tanker finally and a couple of other goodies so can't complain. I took a couple of quick shots of the Boeing stuff for you guys enjoy.

Thanks Sergio! I was actually hoping to see that taxi out almost more than the 787. That would have been epic rotation in great light, arrrggg. If that thing sticks around I am going to take another drive it's a sweet bird.

Good stuff. What's up with the CO 73?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

That engine & cowling look like JT8D to me, so not likely it is for the CO 73.

Ya know, I sat parked there for hours, ate my breakfast there and saw the regi and said I should write it down or take a pic of it yet I did neither but looking at it my best guess is its a 300.

Haha copy that. I was thinking they might have ran out of parking up here for them so they are starting to put them down there. There are 4 at RNT and 4 at BFI at this point.

Couldn't be they are first to get the title change when UA and CO offically go to United?

No they are waiting for seats after that whole forging documents scandal.

Those airplanes at RNT and BFI are waiting for seats - they were meant to have those Japanese seats in them, but since the Feds found the manufacturer had falsified some of the certification test results, there's been a backlog of deliveries to some airlines. Well, at least the airframes could be delivered, but without seats they're not much use!

The CO bird pictured at the top of the thread is a Classic anyway, not an NG - eyebrow windows and flatter bottoms to the engine cowls. Suspect its a retiree - CO have parked a lot of their classics, even though a few of the parked airframes are back in service temporarily because of the delays on new build deliveries.

Nice shots Nick. Interesting to see the 787 tucked in the corner like that, almost like a she's part of the retired planes. Interesting thing about that and the 748 is one day they'll both be there but at the end of their life.
