A rare bird at JFK arrived around noon today (9/13) on RWY 22L. This was taken from North Woodmere park and cropped. I don't know where it parked or when it left.

    Very cool catch!

According to FlightAware, it came in from Decatur, AL (Pryor Field Regional Airport) and left around 1:45pm. It belongs to McNeely Charter Service, out of West Memphis, AR. The outbound leg was scheduled back there, but per FA, it diverted to Akron-Canton, OH.

The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

I'm not sure if this really qualifies as a "notable" visitor, but Flightstats.com is showing the Asiana 777 arrival (flight 222) being operated by a 747 this Saturday (10/15).

Ok, thanks for the info Manny. THat was the first time I've ever seen the 747 shown for Asiana going to JFK. Hopefully it will be used again next saturday.

There is a Saudi A340 and 747SP by the triple hangers.
It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

In town to pick up the body of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who was next in line for the throne, but died today of colon cancer at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Steven and I saw the A340 come in, but not the 747SP (we missed it because we were in transit to HoBe, and might have missed this on flightaware). Here are the two birds.
