Was in the area this aftertnoon and took a quick drive around FRG and I havent seen the ramps of Atlantic and Sheltair that empty in a long time. And with the crappy weather no one flying though I did see Bell N44HC fueling up. And speaking of him, around 3:30 I hear the loud buzz of an approaching copter and had a
pretty good idea who it was from the sound. It was 44HC flying about 500 feet over my house heading NB. Avoiding the last of the bad weather though it was brightening to the West. With the temps close to 55 I decided to go for a nice walk and who do I see again around 4PM now heading EB and around 1500 this time? 44HC of course.
Rest of the weekend looks great for spotting actvities.

Are they using a noise cannon at FRG or were there hunters in the area?
Was over by the Terminal this afternoon and heard a number of blasts.

They have been using fully aitomatic propane poppers to scare the birds for a long time. I always hear them

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
