Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Your info on the Rangers sounds accurate.
It took me a few minutes to get that insult. :)
Gerard, very sorry if it sounded that was, it was not meant as an insult.
Now that I look back at it, it does make me sounds like an ass-clown.

Republic Farmingdale (FRG) Notable Visitors 2010

Decided to get out of the house for awhile and headed down to FRG. JUst as I arrived so did snow showers, some
heavy, along with a cold gusty wind. This didnt stop a number of jets departing and arriving. One of them was one
type I hadnt seen, a 1976 Lockheed JetSTAR II, N777AY. Even the controllers were asking what type of jet that was.
It was Dezer 1(written underneath the cockpit) from Team Dezer (written on the tail atop of the tail # and under
the DP logo.Plane shutdown, refueled and repositioned to the back of the Atlantic ramp.

NIIIIIIICCCEEEEEE! They have one of the most complex fuel systems I have ever seen in my life to operate. There are like 283474 diffrent tanks on that thing.

i'm curious, are they army or air force? army are dark greenish-black while USAF are more dark grey and have the refueling probe sticking out. navy -60's are light grey.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I know all 3 versions well and I was wondering myself. By the time I got out of the house I could only see them from the rear through the trees and I couldn't confirm the refueling probe. They were dark in color so they may have been USAF Pave Hawks, but definately not USN Sea Hawks. Saw the separate thread for the Angelina Jolie film, but these were 3 Sikorskys in delta formation.

    Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009

I'll put this in the FRG thread since I figure the ship was working FRG tower.
Was heading up to Syosset on Jericho Turnpike making a turn on Jackson to go North when all of a sudden I
spy a low flying helicopter west of me. It then turned and flew West. This was around 5:30 or so. When we
reached our destination (MIMS) on Berry Hill Road it was now east of us still low. I believe it was N355AG the
Al Cerullo TwinStar even though it was dark I know that ship has a bright red anti-collision light on its belly.
Anyone know what they were up to? Filming?

Filming for the movie with Ang. Joile. That movie better be one hell of a block buster when it is done for as much jet fuel as those guys are burning. LOL Not that I am some sort of enviormentalist. Al has been REALLY busy these months since the Memorial Day air show.
