They (USCG) stop by in spurts, there was one in 3 days this past week.
And they are not consistent, some times they go to Sheltair, sometimes Atlantic.
Either way, they seem to always stop by around lunchtime. Hey, they gotta eat too.

Here is one from Sept 2011 over at Sheltair

Isn't the base at Floyd still active?

Notthat I mind them at FRG :) but why wouldn't they just use their own base?

While not 100% positive, I thought that I heard the T-45 take off around 1 PM. I was several miles away and thought that I heard the distinct sound, although I could be wrong. Anyway, I just drove by Sheltair, and didn't see the T-45, however it was very crowded with good sized Lear jets and Gulfstreams. Also, the museums B-25 was still at the museum with a small crowd around it. This was about ten minutes ago at 3:40 PM.

Nice shots Moose! I am shocked that the sound that I heard was actually the plane as I was in West Islip, only a few hundred yards North of the water, wow. At least I got to hear it and I did see it fly in, just lucky looking out the window at the right time.

Any one happen to be there on March 12th late in the afternoon when a Hockey Team (Plane had a Maple Leaf on tail), if so at the same time was a dark red helicopter (along with a good looking red head woman) awaiting arrival of passenger who arrived in Mercedes and took off heading SoutWest over Rte 109, have any info on the helicopter?

Helicopter was N355CS, a Twin Star. Supposedly the pilot and her husband have 2 such ships and have started up a helicopter charter service.

The aircraft was an Air Canada Jetz A320 and it was bringing the Washington Capitals hockey team in to play the Isles. Here's a shot of Ovechkin coming down the stairs.
This is my only "paparazzi" shot I have ever taken.

The phone number for Catalyst is in Princeton. I wonder if they took over the hangar after Analar moved to the new pad in Kearny.

That facility in Kearny (N65NJ) is pretty awesome. They actually have a Facebook page (The Kearny Heliport) with some great pictures. Might have to pay a visit
as it looks from the pics an easy place to watch and take pics though not sure how "spotter friendly" they are.
