Tex Sutton sitting at Sheltair, Islanders charter prepping and idling over at Atlantic right along the fence on 109 and what looked to be a CG Aux/CAP meeting at the Main Terminal. There were about 12 planes sitting on the ramp there. And boy was it a nice day with temps around 62 and nice sun.

Just caught this plane flying in:

Not the greatest shot, I was checking out Flight Aware and saw that it was due in any second, so I ran out front and took the shot. This is the view from my front yard. If I had more time, I would have liked to have caught it landing. I had a 28-135mm lens on the camera otherwise it would have been zoomed in closer. It's just not an angle seen much in photos.

Oh, meant to ask, was there a chartered MD-80 of sorts at FRG sometime on Sat or Sunday? I saw one overhead but the trajectory suggests it was from FRG and not some haphazard lost LGA arrival...
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

There were two MD-83's in town recently, one on Friday and one on Sunday, different owners.

A US Jet MD-83 arrived early Friday afternoon from BED, and departed later in the afternoon, heading to RDU.

Another US Jet MD-83 departed FRG on Sunday around Noon, heading to Montreal - looks like it arrived Sunday morning.

The NHL schedule tells me it was likely the Boston Bruins arriving Friday and departing Sunday, for their game with the Islanders on Saturday. They then had a game with the Canadiens on Monday.

Joe, that Delta jet was probably bringing the Flyers in for tomorrow's game.

Moose is dead on here. N949NS both times for the Bruins.

Looks like he left a little late. At around 4:15, while getting some fresh air outside my office in Melville, I happened to look up and see an F-18 departing FRG northbound along Rt. 110. He was moving really fast and disappeared into the cloud layer in less than a minute! (Do these guys need to abide by the 250 kt limit?)

Yes, they went off late - by then, the clouds had moved in pretty well. And no, they don't have to follow the 250kt limit if operational requirements dictate otherwise. When I flew the T-38, our normal cruise speed was 300kt IAS, and we always flew that speed in normal operations.

Here's a few shots from me with my new lens, unfortunately, it isn't suited for zooms as it's max reach is 105mm:

Nice shots, Joe. I guess you were in the gaggle in the parking lot, sorry we didn't get to talk.
