Looks like ticketing is now available. Heats are on Sat and races are on Sunday.

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Just to clarify, Mario is talking about June 19th and 20th, not this coming weekend.
For those who cannot make it, NYCA will have full media coverage!
Email me anytime at [email protected].
I plan on going. Does anyone have a link where I can buy tickets?

So I gather the seating is for Liberty State Park?Originally Posted by mirrodie

Tickets run the gamut, from $35 to over 1295 per person.
Nice thing is though that kids under 6 are free :D

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
I'll stick with the $30 tix :borat: Or I might just view from another area.

I remember reading somewhere on the Red Bull site that there wouldn't be good views of the race from Manhattan (not without binoculars anyway). Judging from this map it looks like the best sightlines are on the Jersey side:

FYI- I'm still hoping to hear some info soon on a possible spectator boat to view the race from also. :borat:
When I hear any news I'll post the info here also !!
Found some info on boat viewing:

Judging from the map, I'm guessing the coast guard will be corralling boats just southeast of Ellis Island. Might get good shots of planes coming off the finish line, but maybe not great views of the race itself.
Also, found on this "Harbor Events" page (http://www.iboatnyharbor.com/Harbor%20Events.htm):
It seems as if training days are usually held the Thursday and Friday before the race, so it the park isn't closed up it might be a good opportunity for crowd-free viewing.June 17: Red Bull Air Race - Training Day 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Shoot first, ask questions later.

I think FoxSports is broadcasting this live?
Does anyone know what time the race starts and ends?

I think I'm going to take the LIRR to Penn, jump on the PATH on 33rd & 6th & get off at Liberty State Park.
If I go on Sat, I can get GA tickets for $30.
Every other way either seems to require being set up by 8am, or spending a ton of money. Both are not an option for me, especially with Quonset coming up 2 weeks after.
EVERYONE IS THERE TO SEE THE SHERPA!

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately, I just called NY Waterways with more questions
about their spectator boat for the Red Bull Air Race, and they said they've decided NOT
to have the special boat for the race now. What a Bummer, because it sounded really GREAT !!! :(
