F18 Super Hornets stop over in Auckland, New Zealand

Here are some pictures and video of when Auckland International Airport played host to some rather different international aircraft.

The five Super Hornets were accompanied by a C17 military transport aircraft.

I was lucky enough to be out there for work.

The Super Hornets flew on to Brisbane:

sweet. i thought omega only flew 707s.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

They are - they arrived the last week of March. They are the first of 24 the RAAF is buying (the rest will be delivered later this year and next) as a "stopgap" measure between the retirement of their F-111s and the arrival of the F-35.
