The Pilatus thing....Pilatus is flying in a PC-12
Although the cabin will be closed off, I can personally attest to how photogenic this beauty is..especially up close.
I'm not sure of exact price (either $30 or $40) but if you want to take some great pictures of long island, we'll be doing plane rides all day. If you fancy an open cockpit ride, we'll have a bi-plane taking people up for a cruise as well. There will be live music, full motion simulator rides, discounts on all pilot shop items and of course the BBQ.
If you are interested learning to fly the spring fling is the perfect event to get familiar with the different types of aircraft and ask questions to students and instructors in a friendly and casual atmosphere. We can answer the most frequent questions like "how much is it to learn to fly" or we'd be happy to take you into our class room and have a more in-depth consultation 1on1. I'll be there if you need anything..Just say you're from NYC Aviation and I'll take good care of you. Look for me in a white NFI golf shirt (My name is Ryan if you have not already met me)
I have a family thing in the early afternoon, but I should be able to stop by for a bit at the beginning. Ryan, I'll be looking for you.
I look forward to seeing all of you guys tomorrow!

Had a GREAT TIME!!!!!! Took a flight and when I got in the plane the pilot asked me if I ever flown before. I told him I did fly 172's but that was back in high school about 19 years ago. Then he said ok your flying today! I took off flew the pattern from sunrise to the LIE then I even landed. It was incredible!! I'm already planning on heading back to fly again!!!
Thanks to all that came out. Hope you had a good time!
Here is a picture of Phil getting his aviation on
I really wanted to make it today, I had a football game that I couldn't miss.
I want to check out NFI so as to show some support to a NYCA member.
Do you have to be enrolled in the school to take lessons or can I just block out some time w/an instructor?
EVERYONE IS THERE TO SEE THE SHERPA!
Sry I couldnt make it. Works a callin me for the week :(
I got so wasted last night I could not see straight this morning! (I do not drink often so I had to make up for 3 months of nothing more then a beer once every 2 weeks or so with dinner)
Then I had to start getting my responses ready for History Under the Stars... My father in law had a birthday and now I am back to the grind of finalizing the event for airshow and hope to send out emails tonight.
I really wanted to make it today and needed to be there to follow up on a few things with Phil for an upcoming news article for the site. Sorry Phil... I felt like a bug in my bed screaming "HELP MEEE!" hangovers are always worse when you do not drink for a very long time. Anyway, NFI Rocks and I am sorry that I could not hang with the great guys over there! I hope to read allot more of the great time you guys had and congrats on the new Huskies! It is wonderful watching you guys play!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
I visited for a bit today and even took my first ever flight in a single engine plane.

It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do
