    Interesting takeoff videos

Two great videos that were being discussed on airliners.net. The first shows the impressive power of an empty 777LR, which was departing on a short ferry flight. The second shows how long it takes an old Russian cargo plane to take off, with some hilarious commentary in the background.

Love the Delta video. That was impressive. It looks like they pitched to a good 30 or 40 degrees. Than when theypushed back over I wonder if they neg'd out on the G loading at all.

Wow....what is it with those Russian planes - they all seem to do long long take-off rolls - are they that underpowered?

Underpowered and "Hey, 4 tons overweight? No problem, comrade."
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
