BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
Cary, St. Martin is very addictive... even when it gets boring, it is very rewarding... I can't explain it but I think you know what I mean... Even as I waited for my B60788 back to NY, I am pegged to the window looking at the ramp and in comes AFR 3510. They put her next to the JetBlue and in my face... omg I was like a little kid. I have never been that close to an A340 before.
The worst for me were 6 jumbo cruise ships that came in while i was there. One day at the beach between 2:00pm and 4:00pm it was so full of tourists, I had nowhere to stand and shoot so I took refuge between the DANGER sign and the fence LOL.
Clouds were everpresent in small bunches but enough to cause clouds at just the moment a plane would cross the beach, bummer for a few shots.
I was also daydreaming of a 777 and an A380 coming in hahahahaha. That would be very sweet to see. There are enough French visitors a day I think to warrant it.
I can't wait to get back. For now I need to spend some time with the over 4000 shots I took (not all of the beach and planes) as the fam and I ventured out to the surrounding area and a day in Philipsburg. Never made it to Marigot.

BRING BACK THE KJFK/KLGA OBSERVATION DECKS
Two more:
Hey Manny - glad you had fun. Bummer about the clouds. I had a similar experience...clouds would cover the sun just before an arrival, then it would be sunny for the half an hour following, but no planes. Murphy's Law of Aviation Photography, I guess Looking forward to your shots.
Yeah.. so true about the clouds / sun. I figured it was the time of year. As for mine, well, the cards are full and downloading now, over 5,000 shots overall, not all planes... but mostly. I filled 4 16GB cards, 8 8GB cards and a set of 4GB cards. I had planned to download them to my MacBook Air and then to an external drive but the USB must be 1.1 or something... it was taking sooo long to do it that I did not bother. I just kept using fresh cards and would transfer at home when I got back to USB 2.0 and FW 800 ;-) I should have taken the MacBook Pro but that sucker is HEAVY!!!
