    How Do You Wrap?

since i can't sleep and have to be up in 3 hours anyway i took time getting a head start on wrapping christmas gifts. i got this idea from a former flight instructor, and been doing it ever since. instead of going out and spending cash on wrapping paper i save my old charts and use them to wrap christmas and birthday gifts in. doesn't look all that bad when mixed with ribbon to match:

this one was a low altitude IFR enroute chart. (L33 and L34) now it's my brother's and secret santa gifts for work.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

This columnist/hedge fund manager I used to work with used to give us all gifts wrapped in old stock certificates of defunct companies...which were actually a lot cooler than the presents themselves. One year I got a couple of Pan Am certificates, sadly they had been wrinkled and torn in the wrapping process.

Pretty good idea actually. I know someone who stuffs bags with old NOS charts in Sarasota. Normally I start with wrapping paper, a ribbon, a bow, some scotch, some scotch tape and the gift. When I finish everything is the same minus the scotch ususally. Hahahaahahaha
