US is drastically cutting their operations at LGA, I guess Colgan will have no more work to do.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

part of the AWE/DAL slot swap deal. regional flying out of LGA is being cut drastically, and with it most of the workforce as well.

All regionals operating for USX are essentially going the way of the do do bird. Colgan will cease to exist at LGA shortly. Theyr staff includes pilots, F/A's and mechanics as well as a base maneger for the pilots and F/A's. The same can be said of all other USX regionals minus Republic for LGA as far as cuts go. Piedmont is taking the largest hit as the entire Express concorse as well that the Express operations department in the tower is manned by Piedmont. Sad to see many former co workers are getting the old yeller treatment from an airline manegement team at the executive level who is greedy and in many cases incompetent. I miss the US family but I will never miss that company.
