Attack Fox News on your own time, President Obama

Wow, editorial from the USA Today against President Obama and their war against Fox News.

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/co ... ound_N.htm

Apparently, the Obama White House believes in diplomacy with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but not Glenn Beck.

Two days after the president won the Nobel Peace Prize, Barack Obama's communications director was on national television essentially declaring a message war on a major cable network that employs the abrasive commentator Beck, who recently called the president a racist.

    .
There is still a thing called presidential decorum. Sending out a taxpayer-paid partisan to attack a network, and by extension, its viewers, is not presidential. If you want to get in the mud with Glenn Beck, do it on your own dime and time, not ours.

I actually think Beck is an idiot but Obama and his administration is obviously scared and concerned that someone other than Rush is grabbing the ear of the country and it could be a problem come 2012'. Mostly due to the fact Obama is failing terribly and his congress is floundering but this is simply an attempt to villify the GOP. It worked in 08' but people that went against their better judgement and voted for him are demanding results and they are just not there. To try to infer FOX is a wing of the GOP or anything to do with the GOP just shows how the grasping at straws has begun. Remember the things that are going on right now were never supposed to happen.

Obama touted CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN

The way this guy is rolling, I have to admit, he may very well change me, from an Independent to a Republican.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Instead of whining like a bunch of bitches why don't they take care of Beck the old fashioned way? Plant some dead hookers in his trunk or something.

Beck would probably brush that off and make a joke about it. Even the most die hard Liberal really has to admit this is childish attacking FOX like this. President Obama is really shaping up to be what I would consider a poor leader. Real leaders don't blame the past for the problems of today, they rise to the challenge and overcome those problems. We have managers in my company that try to do the same thing when they get placed in a dept or field office that has "issues." We simply tell them the past is the past and you can either dwell on it or be the star and fix it. The same thing happens all the time...the ones who dwell on the past fail and move on..the one's who rise to the challenge succeed. President Obama is turning out to be the one who dwells on the past, and for that I can see him moving on in 4 years.

Well, the Obama Administration could try to meet him head on in some high profile debate of some sort. The Clinton Administration marched out Al Gore who just about subjected H Ross Perot to a live vivisection in front of a National Audience and that was end of Perot. And Perot had a huge fan base.

Its a bit different with Glenn Beck, because he's a television personality employed by the Network and not a candidate, former candidate, candidate-in-waiting throwing rocks. But for the right ratings, I am sure Fox would take the bait to set a format and venue.

The risk for the Obama Administration, as it was for Clintons people vs Perot, was they have to be reasonably sure they can "win". Can Rahm man up to the challenge? Can Beck?

As an aside, it sure seemed like the Bush people handled Perot in the general manner that Gotham Spotter suggested, the 2nd time around at least, and it appeared to work.

There are some precedents for Presidents rolling up their own sleeves, but they were either candidates or formerly in office at the time... thinking of Bush Sr. Vs. Dan Rather, and Clinton vs. Chris Wallace.

Well, in a way it can appear that way sometimes. Not FOX per se, but Murdoch's New York Post was an absolute launch pad for Guiliani in New York City. It didn't bother me too much at the time, because the city needed him and the rest of the mass media was playing defense for Dinkins until the bottom really dropped out and shamefully the New York Times continued to try to protect the Liberal establishment the whole way through... when even Cuomo and Moynihan and anyone sane knew the hopelessly inept and thin skinned Dinkins had to go...

One of the (many) great things about Guiliani was he rose to Mayor owing only Fox, Time Warner and Ray Harding (and his so-called "Liberal" Party) any significant favors.. an astronomical bargain compared to any Democrat in the field. And whatever their faults, we were insanely lucky to have Bloomberg follow him who basically didn't have to owe much to anyone since he could buy his way in.

Even Helen Thomas is now warning the White House that they're making a big mistake.
