Man Turns Garage Into Pan Am 747 First Class Cabin

A United Airlines exec near L.A. has spent the past 20 years recreating the nose section of a Pan Am 747 in his garage. Sick.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

This July I went to Houston to take the ATOP class (which was awesome in itself, highly recommend http://www.b737.com/aopa.htm) and there I met Joe with his son from Puerto Rico - they are restoring the front portion of a 727. Pretty much everything is original equipment (including the actual fuselage!) that he was able to interface with a flight simulator. Pictures and vids look pretty awesome. They told me I can stay at their place if I ever make it out there. Can't wait 8)

Flying is not dangerous; crashing is dangerous.
