    European Aviation Terms

AirBus--Leading maker of A-320 aircraft using cheap Chinese labour funded through European subsidy.

Boeing-The penultimate aircraft maker of the world. Often copied but never duplicated by Airbus

Cheap composites, Caveman, Composite Craker Box--The "three C's" of the French manufacture process.

Douglas--Later known as McDonnell Douglas. In a Coup De'tat sold AirBus the stillborne MD-12 concept who then developed it into the A-380 debacle.

EADS--Owner of Airbus, who choose to invovle themselves in illegal trade practices, stock manipulations and bribery along with a few A-380 sales.

Frenchman--The people who invented the French Curve, Beret, and Citroen and also fancy themselves as aircraft designers. Favorite sport: bicycles Bicycle Champion: Lance Armstrong.

Germans--The only people who had the will to stop all the French Tomfoolery.

Helicopter--Another mode of transportation dominated by Americans.

Insurance--Often portrayed in the USA as being so easy to buy a Caveman could do it. Needed when booking a flight where the type aircraft has a cheap composite tail section.

Jet Engine--Conceptually designed by the British and Germans, perfected by Americans.

Korean War--Interesting fact, the last time an American soldier was killed by a hostile aircraft. Since this time American Air Superiority has been so dominant enemy aircraft have not killed a ground trouper.

LeDuc--French research aircraft with seven afterburner. Sadly it only had a 10 minute flight time after being towed aloft and released before gliding to landing.

Midway--While giving new built aircraft to Russia and Britian, bombing out the Germans during daylight hours, the French Navy singly handedly destroyed the Japanese combined Fleet in the Pacific leading to Japans ultimate defeat. Actually it was the Americans who did all this, but if the French hadn't surrendered so quickly to teh Germans it probably never would have happened.

North America--The place the Euro looks when needing help on any aspect of the thing called aviation.

Operating Cost--Cost of operating a given airframe, new standard: Boeing 787

Pitot Tubes, Pilots--What every Airbus crash is blamed upon.

    Quality Control--See letter "C".

Rafale--A modern French combat aircraft designed in the 1980's to dominate all 1960 era aircraft.

    SST--French thrill ride gone wrong.

    Turbulance--See letter "P"

Utilization Rate--A commercial aviation performance measurement of how reliable a piece of equipment. Take a shocking look at the new A-380.

Vertical Speed--Good going up, not so good going down.

Weather--Something to avoid if your airplane is equipped with a cheap composite tail.

X Planes--The designation of the most successful series of research aircraft the world has ever seen. Made in America.

Yoke--Something so successful the French decided to replace it with a false feedback sidestick.

Zulu--What every French aviator sets his watch to when flying in Africa.

Thats out of line, they should use European labour as via our taxes we brits pay the EU parliament.

Concorde was never made in china, it was made purely in France and UK.

Cheap composites, Caveman, Composite Craker Box--The "three C's" of the French manufacture process.
Not really as composites are new technology which are also used in USAF steal fighter and bomber.

Douglas--Later known as McDonnell Douglas. In a Coup De'tat sold AirBus the stillborne MD-12 concept who then developed it into the A-380 debacle.
I never knew that, on tv programs in the UK about the A380 Airbus implied that it was their idea, but now it looks like the USA gave airbus the concept.

Jet Engine--Conceptually designed by the British and Germans, perfected by Americans.
True if frank Whittle (inventor of the british jet engine) had copyrighted his invention and got royalties, he would have been richer than Bill Gates of Microsoft.

Korean War--Interesting fact, the last time an American soldier was killed by a hostile aircraft. Since this time American Air Superiority has been so dominant enemy aircraft have not killed a ground trouper.
its partly true, but after Vietnam more US pilots where beingv shot out of the sky as they lost their combat and dog fighting skills, so the US had make topgun to train their pilots to fight.

I still feel the USAF and US Navy pilots are the best in the world, not sure how modern day Russian planes compare to the US planes.

LeDuc--French research aircraft with seven afterburner. Sadly it only had a 10 minute flight time after being towed aloft and released before gliding to landing.
similar things happened to Bell X1, X15 etc, these where research planes which had to be towed in to the sky to test supersonic and hypersonic flight.

North America--The place the Euro looks when needing help on any aspect of the thing called aviation.
LOL, we didn't need American help with Concorde.

Rafale--A modern French combat aircraft designed in the 1980's to dominate all 1960 era aircraft.
not sure to me it looks like the french version of the euro fighter as they both look very similar.

    SST--French thrill ride gone wrong.
LOL  thats utterly wrong, we designed and made 14 Concordes for the same amount of money that the Americans spent on wooden model LOL , until the 2000 Paris crash Concorde was the safest airliner ever made.

Paris crash wasn't Concorde's fault as bit of DC10 engine fell off, Concorde ran over it and crashed.

Overall Concorde flew for 27 years and in BAs hands she was the safest airliner ever made as BA had no crashes with Concorde. In the same time period more Boeing and MD planes crashed.

Unlike the Europe America had huge experience with long range supersonic flight as Lockheed made the brilliant SR71 blackbird and B58 Hustler, America could have made a brilliant SST the Lockheed 2000

This plane would been better and faster than Concorde but dodgy president Nixon and his government didn't use common sence of asking Lockheed, instead they chose Boeing who had no supersonic experience, Boeings SST was to complicated in the end was scrapped.

If Lockheed L2000 had been made SSTs would have been normal travel for long range passenger flight.

Vertical Speed--Good going up, not so good going down.

Yoke--Something so successful the French decided to replace it with a false feedback sidestick.
No its that yellow thing in an egg

Zulu--What every French aviator sets his watch to when flying in Africa.
LOL, its a south African warrior.
