Matt, yes they just had them painted up from the TWA and future deliveries of 717s. I think that plane had just been painted (unpainted) the week before I shot it. When I shot that I have no idea of the rarity of the TWA/AAL 717s livery. VERY few people shot or or new of their existence. I shot both of them at the time.
Another shot Tommy will sure enjoy :)

Yes TWA is dead. The pix were taken in 2001 STL/MKE.

Actually, the Br. Cal. livery was not special at all; it was their normal livery. They sent a B747 and a D10 to JFK for a few years then the service stopped. I heard that BA bought them out. They had a great livery; very elegant and royal!

Thanks for mentioning the "Singapore/BA Livery" Concorde. This is my favorite of all time. I even purchased a fibreglass model back in 1980. I omitted this because the livery was actually a normal BA Livery on 1-side and a normal SIA livery on the other side. I was trying to discuss aircraft with advertising or special events (Olympics, FIFA,etc). I consider the SIA/BA livery as a hybrid (2 different airliners on the craft) but thanks again for remembering my very favorite aircraft ever.

You can, but you gotta be on the ball Just put it on your PlaneFinder App to alert you when she is coming to NY. Set the area for Worldwide. As soon as she takes off, you have at least 12 hours to get to JFK. If you're in Chicago, she comes to ORD a lot more often than JFK

What I went through to catch the F1 bird...it would be lousy weather (like actual IFR) or I'd hear about it after the fact. One day, I had a heads up that it was inbound, and my car died on Peninsula Boulevard. As I waited for the tow truck, sure enough, it flew directly overhead. Finally Eric let me know it was expected one day, and sent me a running commentary via text messages updating me as it approached New York. Finally timing, weather, and location all came together that day!
