:) right.... Then I hope they never send the 707. What would JFK be without SengaB? :( :D

So that night I told you CS-TEX was at JFK, that was an actual VIP flight or flying for Hi-Fly?

Sorry OOPS now I see where you mentioned Vietnam and the Burkina Faso. Still would love to know at what time Vietnam came in, if anyone knows

Mario I shot the I-FLY A310 today is this the one yo saw? I recall you said it was in basic Oman colors as CS-TEX. This one is CS-TEI.
The Virgin A346 APU ruined my shot.

    Senga,

Just wanted to echo everyone else's comments and thanks for the great job you do in keeping track of all this UN Stuff!

For me I was disappointed to miss most of the stuff this year due to work and lack of enthusiasm for a 2nd day at JFK after getting only an AZ A319 on the Saturday. However the highlight on Sunday at EWR was the Burkina Faso B727, that in itself made up for missing all the other stuff!

Thanks for the kind words Mark. I appreciate them.
I know the feeling about getting the dates wrong. Believe it or not a few times I got them dates wrong as well. Luckily Tom Turner always set me straight. That's good you got the Burkina Faso. That is a nice one to get and really is in the top 5 along with Chad and Gambia to get. Congrats. It seems to visit NY 2 times a year or so.

Great shots Senga. What kind of powerful telephoto lens do you use? You must have a scanner to know when the aircraft will arrive. Any trouble with security? I only saw 2 of those aircraft: Viernam and POCCHA when I visited JFK. I used to take non-digital photos during the 80's and 90's using a 205mm lens from Rockaway Blvd. Mostly B744s, now replaced by Airbuses and B777s. Thanks for sharing.

Senga has a chip implanted that feeds him streaming ATC info, so he always knows where to deploy his army of clones! :D :D :D

What date and time did you see the Vietnam 777?

If you have shots from the 80s and 90s at JFK I'd love to see those, maybe you can make a new thread so we can all see them 8) :borat:

Sick thread Senga. No matter how well I think I did during UN week, you ALWAYS leave me shaking my head at all the goodies you caught, and thanks again and again for helping with 88ZL. I owe you many many beers!

Any idea who was on board N88ZL?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

    Speedbird1,
I have the standard Canon 100-400IS lens for the far shots. Yes I have multiple scanners that I utilize when shooting at airports. I also have several at home set up for picking up air traffic transmissions as well. I usually use two of them though when at the airports. I have never had a problem with my scanners but I won't want to test it.

I would NEVER dream if going to an airport without my scanners., I don't know how anyone can shoot blind like that. I have always wanted to know whats landing around me at all times when I am at an airport.

I used to have a Minolta 7000 Film camera with a 100-200mm, 55mm-85mm and a 24mm set for my film shots. I do miss film photography greatly.

    John,
The good old "Clone" thing. Wow no one has brought that up for a while now :)
I am waiting for the day than you are all at firestone shooting a plane landing and another one you wanted went to 31L but yet SOMEHOW I managed to get BOTH planes on sunny side of the plane :)

    Mario R,
I forgot what day Day the VHN B772 was at JFK Sat or Sun I think and it was in the morning.
Nice shot of the A310. I wish I got yours instead of my version.

    wunaladreamin,
No Problem on N88ZL. I am glad you finally got it as I know you were dying to get it. The first time I ever shot that plane it was just like it was when you shot it. About the beer Owage...Yea I don't drink but maybe I can think if something.

    GothamSpotter,
It went to MMGL in Mexico. I saw it depart JFK on the 28th. I don't know if it went anywhere after that.

Thanks although my shot is terrible really lol in almost total darkness with a lamp post shining bright on the front part. Have no idea how to edit it. Yea, I love green usually but man that new Oman Air livery is just too weird for me, looks like a candy wrapper.

Wish mine had titles so I can log it as something but no logo, no titles.. almost as bad in my book (ok not quite) as those anonymous BBJs, Falconjets and A319s we were seeing. Why couldn't the Vietnam, MEA, or Burkina Faso come in while I was there???

When everybody got so excited at some untitled 737 and A319, I just put my camera down.

So if the Vietnam came in Sat or Sunday it makes me think it's better to show up at JFK towards the end and right after the UN session is over.

Wow I didn't even know that was in the basic colors of the new Oman livery. I thought it was just another generic corporate scheme someone devised. If I had to miss a new plane this year for the UNGA that would have been the one.
A few years back Vietnam went to SWF and parked.
BTW here is a story I like to tell about VHN when it arrived in NY for the first time with the 777 to open the Stock Market.

The first time HVN hit JFK it was a night time arrival. The Pilot tried the Canarsie Arpproach to 13R (I knew he wasn't going to make it..VIPs and one timers often don't make CA to 13R without a second try. The controller asked Hotel Victor November **** would you like to try the approach again? We understand this is your first time at JFK. If you would like we can give you 22L. The Vietnam Pilot (With angst responded and in a strong Vietnamese accent with "No!, No!..TWO TWO LEFT!! TWO TWO LEFT!! We accept Two Two Left!L!

He didn't contacted departure for like 15 mins after heading 090 and stayed at 2000ft way over Long Island.

I actually thought he used some type of transporter device or Stargate to get quickly from one location to another.

    Gordon,
They did go to PIT but never saw a movement to JFK this year. Here is what I came accross on FBOweb.

    Wed 23-Sep-2009 A333 SEA SEATTLE-TACOMA INTL PIT PITTSBURGH INTL 02:45 PM PDT (2145Z) 09:52 PM EDT (0152Z) 4h 7m Arrived
Sat 26-Sep-2009 A333 PIT PITTSBURGH INTL BOS GENERAL EDWARD LAWRENCE LOGAN INTL 08:14 AM EDT (1214Z) 09:18 AM EDT (1318Z) 1h 4m Arrived
Wed 30-Sep-2009 A333 BOS GENERAL EDWARD LAWRENCE LOGAN INTL SEA SEATTLE-TACOMA INTL 09:19 PM EDT (0119Z) 11:39 PM PDT (0639Z) 5h 20m Arrived

    Just as I thought

I could have used the new colors.....if I had to miss one plane this yea THAT would have been the one to miss!

    Gerard,
    Neither is correct!
I actually randomly search for images that look cool and lost them on NYCA :) So when ever I see something on the trackers or hear about something coming in I just post whatever I find.

    Like this,
    JFK-er
