    JFK Customs Lot

Not really a law enforcement post, but I thought this was the best place for it(Phil feel free to move it to where you think it's best suited!)

I went to JFK yesterday 9/19 in the hope of catching some UN Movements (only saw the AZ A319) and went to my usual hangout of the US Customs lot.

As I was driving in I noticed new signs for a towing company warning that it was for customers only and others would be towed. I continued in and parked up by the fence, thinking it was a deterrent but a false one. After about an hour a tow truck showed up,so I made a quick exit before the guy could get out of the truck and clamp the car with me still in it!

Can they lawfully clamp with you still in it?

    No...

But if he leaves it and walks away...

    yes!

We get people towed all the time, for parking in our lot. It's to a point where Port & their contracted parking service are getting complaints from our "happy" customers...

The Customs Lot is just a location that is not usable anymore, unfortunately. A great shame.

Truly is a shame. I used to visit that lot regularly before they blocked the fences with those slats.

Fred, Delta Song was less than 10 years ago, right?

I thought those tall fences were up in Customs for much longer than Song was around?
