I visited Flushing Meadows often during the recent US Open. They basically used 2 traffic patterns during the tournament. The Rwy 13 departures made the Flushing Climb, straight-out to avoid overflying the Stadium and arrivals were on Rwy 4. When the wind changed to the south, they arrived on Rwy 22 overflying the Stadium at 4000' heading to Long Island Sound. They of course avoided arriving or departing over the Stadium during the tournaments. I missed the F-15s flying-over the Stadium before the men's finals. I managed to spot a SWA as well as a Frontier flight arriving on Sunday. Also interesting was the Unisphere fountains were on as usual and Continental built a 757 model made of tennis balls.
