LHR July 5th Departure Pics (Warning: 28 Photos)

It has taken me a while to edit these shots but here are the results from a day spent on the departure deck of Terminal 5 at Heathrow. That evening was by far the most beautiful light I have seen in London.

Great stuff. I don't know that I've ever seen blue sky like that in London.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Can never get enough of Gulf Air or Etihad. WAs there a lot of BMI coming through?

Matt, you'd be surprised, I've gotten a nice tan in London!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

    Thanks, guys.

To answer your question Mario, there was plenty of BMI departures. Most were A319/A320s but there were also 2 A330s.

Great shots. Just one question, how come some of the take offs are in different direction? I thought if you stay at one location and they use one particular runway, shouldn't flights be in the same direction?

The Terminal 5 departure deck is where people are dropped off before entering the terminal. It's open to everyone.

JZ1, the aircraft are departing in two different directions because some are departing runway 27L and the other runway 27R.
