Not to defend UAL but this is only one side of the story...has anyone even asked if the guitars were properly packed? Baggage holds were not designed, engineered, or ever advertised as spaces for delicate items. We all know bags are stacked, shifted around, and tossed about. So one can assume that if these guys didn't use a proper travel case that the guitar was at risk. Btw who checks a personal item that is valued at $3500? Something here doesn't smell right to me.
