    Arizona: $4 billion shortfall or 41 percent of its budget

    Nevada: $1.2 billion or 38 percent of its budget

    Illinois: $9.2 billion or 33 percent of its budget

    New York: $17.9 billion or 32 percent of its budget

    Alaska: $1.35 billion shortfall or 30 percent of its budget

    New Jersey: $8.8 billion or 30 percent of its budget

    Oregon: $4.2 billion or 29 percent of its budget

    Vermont: $278 million or 25 percent of its budget

    These mature on Oct 3 and most of the banks that once said they'd honor them now are backing out. We could very well see the first state bankruptcy take place with C.A.

    MIke, lets; start with CA. Why did they pay over a million for Michael Jacksons funeral???????????????? The jacksons could have footed that bill.

    Eh, I wasn't a big fan of that either, but all the folks who flew out there for the service probably added a couple million bucks to local coffers so it's not such a big deal.

    LA made some nice money from the tourist dollar, now, I would have liked to have seen the police costs paid for, the city will make out in the end.
