    Birds of Prey

I went to the Teddy Roosevelt Bird Sanctuary in Oyster Bay this morning with a photography group I belong to. We got an up-close look at hawks, falcons and owls.

    Great Horned Owl

    Barred Owl

    Harris Hawk

    Red Tailed Hawk

Screech Owl (yes, he's missing an eye)

Merlin Falcon (I didn't ask if they had a Maltese Falcon )

We were shooting in the shade, so I had the ISO bumped up and I'm not crazy about the quality on some of them. Next time, I'll bring my 70-200 f/2.8 with me, getting some extra aperture should help with the ISO.

Awesome, I was way into these guys when I was younger. I guess it came from my Uncle, who would point out all the different birds he'd see. Turns out I grew up working with birds after all, Blackhawks.
