Just booked a fully refundable stay (two nights) at the Hilton Garden Inn at PAE. Anyone else going to be in the area for the big day? (other than Jeremy, of course!) :-)

You'll need it....sources say it's not flying this month.Originally Posted by ChrisW
I have heard from two credible sources that it isn't flying this month and that it's flying on June 30th. It could go either way. Flightblogger, among others, is saying 6/30 and that this was confirmed from Boeing. The other sources don't have Boeing confirmation, but don't have reason to make it up either.
Until I see Boeing pull a press release I'm not holding my breath.
Since they both conflict I haven't requested any time off work yet - put it that way.

And yet you don't cite any?
Allow me: http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/fl...st-flight.html. Jon has been dead-on with this project for some time now. I'll go with his word. And even if she doesn't fly, oh well. I always enjoy visiting the Seattle area.
The bird's on the flight line. She's headed for the skies.
Just a matter of whenThe bird's on the flight line. She's headed for the skies.
Of course it's a matter of when. I, however, remain optimistic. I mean, we're in the final stages here. We're so used to hearing Boeing delay the project that no one believes the damn thing will ever fly.
Boeing will be making a 787 announcement made at Paris this afternoon, possibly confirming the first flight date.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Tom, I categorically reject your "internal sources", especially when the boss himself confirms the rumor.
Oh, and here's another: http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20090603/BIZ/706039923
And another. Rueters has also picked up on the end-of-June target: http://www.reuters.com/article/rbssIndu ... 2420090616

Eager to see this happen. Hope you guys get to take good shots!!!
Email me anytime at [email protected].
Chris I'm glad to see you can use a search engine.... I simply stated what I was sent from reliable sources who have been greatly benefical in the past. That's called sharing information...not trying to prove you wrong or anyone wrong. If I could post the emails I would but like others on this site the information that's provided is from internal sources and those folks would probably lose their jobs.
I have to agree with Chris that the 30th is looking more promising. But I also have received emails saying that it won't happen too. Since the date has broken onto the net now in a bigger way I haven't heard from any of my previous sources. Boeing is shying away from agreeing to the date publicly still.
