Space Shuttle Endeavour is counting down to their launch Saturday morning at 7:17AM.
And weather looks like it will be cooperating so all you Floridians in the area, rise and shine early. :)

Is it my imagination or are 126 and 127 really close together, and believe me I think it's a good thing? Hard to believe we are living the twighlight of the Shuttles career.
Thanks for posting Gerard, I did not know.
Cheers

Nope not your imagination. In fact 127 was on duty as a "Rescue Shuttle" ready to launch in case there was
trouble during 126s mission with the Hubble telescope.
Is florida time 5 hrs behind UK time ?
If it is then the shuttle will take off 12.17pm UK time.
126 (the Hubble mission) was delayed from October-ish when something else broke right before they were about to fly. It took a while to build the new part, develop a procedure, and train it, so the flight was pushed back. 127 I think was always scheduled to go around this time.
With this in mind I might extend this Florida extravaganza one extra day because afterall who needs to come home to see their great aunt and uncle. lol

Launch postponed: Hydrogen leak.

No MARSA at Cape Canaveral?
Get ready for the earlybird launch Wed at 5:40AM.

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
I assumed he was making a joke about launching the shuttle and the satellite from the Cape on the same day and using MARSA to maintain "proper" separation.Originally Posted by cancidas

Fueling of the external fuel tank just began, over two hours late but the launch should proceed as scheduled. The delay was due to lightning in the area and fueling is not allowed to proceed if lightning is at least 5 miles away.
Postponed again: Another leak during fueling.
